Ive been using Lighthouse Catholic Media website to download Catholic mp3s or buy their CDs. Ive listen to over 30 of them and theyre fantastic! Now you can download the talks right to you iPhone thru this app. Listen anytime! In the car, on a walk, listen and learn your Catholic faith with excellent speakers. Plus, there are freebies all ready to listen to. The Bible is also amazing with easy use and bookmarking. I paid extra for the footnotes and theyre worth every penny!! Explains the typology by referencing other books and verses. I cant say enough about this app!

I would like to give this app a full 5 stars, because the content offered is absolutely worthy of such a rating. However the app itself, specifically the built-in media player, is severely lacking. With no regrets I have purchased upwards of $40 worth of their media tracts. As mentioned above, all is top-rate and spiritually enriching. However, forget about it if, for example, you didnt quite hear what the speaker said, or you want to listen to a point again, or you need to rewind so you can make a note of the Scripture passage that was just quoted. The media player basically includes a toggle Play/Pause button and a slider control to move forward or back in the talk. I have found this virtually impossible to use with any accuracy. Maybe I just have fat fingers. But I find it so difficult to use that, lately, I simply dont even try anymore. And its a shame, because by all other measures the app is simply outstanding. But it is just very curious that an app whose primary purpose is to easily distribute and sell invaluable audio content is packaged with such a poorly-designed media player. This said, please do not let the deficiencies of the media player discourage you from downloading the app and trying for yourself. First of all, perhaps your experience will be different than mine, and more importantly, the content itself is simply outstanding. There is also the option of subscribing to the Lighthouse CD club, which for a nominal fee sends a physical CD to your address each month. I was a happy subscriber at one point, but after amassing a stack of CDs in my truck was hoping that this app would prove more versatile. And indeed it is. But I just try to listen all the better, because I sure dont want to try and rewind if I dont hear something! Hopefully a future version will correct this. Simply the ability to skip back or forward 30 seconds, for example, would make a world of difference, and immediately turn this into a 5-star app from a functional standpoint.

This is a fantastic study aid and great for supplementing prayer. Along with a super easy to use scripture search, there are the daily missal readings as well. I love this app!

I loved this app so I purchased the audio capabilities. Used it less than a month and I cant open any chapters whatsoever now!

Heard about the app on my subscription of CD of the month The Crusades with bonus material about The Inquisition. Im giving a five star review prior to using the app, and the reason why is that Im excited to have a Catholic version to study with on my phone. My daughter have reading through this Bible together. I cant believe Ive gotten a 7 year old through 3 of the 4 Gospels already! Well worth it. There is more than enough content with greater depth to satisfy an adult in the full version as well.

I love the audio Bible, The voice of the person speaking keeps you engaged with the Scriptures. I also like the extra contents of the app. My only reason for not giving it this App five stars, is that for the price of the app it wouldve been great to have the audio for both The Old Testament and the New Testament. Why is the old testament not available in audio? Thank you! Lee

I love this app. I downloaded it for the talks and love the audio version of the scripture. My only critique is I wish they had a 30 second/1 minute rewind button to quickly go back over what was just said in the talks.

This app is amazing. I love it. I use it all the time. I recommend it often. I love downloading talks and playing them for my kids in the car. They are learning so much (as am I). The other features of this app are also outstanding. The one thing I find lacking in this app is the audio player--its awkward to use. Its impossible to find a particular part of a talk or rewind a bit if you missed something. And, unfortunately, the audio player is VERY buggy now since the latest update. Its often unresponsive when I select a talk to play and the Now Playing feature doesnt work anymore. Please fix this!!! Thank you.

I really like the app. Lots of features. I love the Bible and look forward to downloading the whole thing. The audio player is not so user friendly (sole reason for taking away a star). I am used to the Podcast and its controls. This one has no rewind function and will pause it temporarily but will then go to the beginning. If you could make it just like the podcasts on my iPhone I would truly be in love. It would make this app go from excellent to amazing.

Great app for Catholics, or any one looking to learn more of the Catholic faith! Very interesting sermons!

After using this app for a year it is easy for everday reading of the Liturgy. However it seems you can never access references or underlined clauses because there is always a "Purchase required". Cant you make more of these available? Verbum is much better for Bible STUDY.

Amazing I use it in my theology class everyday

As a former Evangelical, this study Bible helped me convert to the Catholic Faith. Gods Word is amazing and life giving. Thank you, Dr. Scott Hahn, for such a thorough commentary. I believe Mother Mary lead me home! Praise God for His Church!

This is a wonderful app to help guide you on your spiritual journey. The optional talks by Dr. Hahn are either free or low cost. Highly recommend.

Through the years I have downloaded and still regularly do use all of the major Bible apps, yet for several reasons I cherish this one above all. The January update was great overall. However, the one feature most lacking is the one I utilize the most: highlighting. You now must make SIX taps in order to highlight just one verse? Please fix this feature to bring it in line with the other Bible apps and e-readers: one or two touch highlighting (finger drag highlighting, like e-readers, if possible), more color options, and especially partial-verse highlighting!
